An Indepth Analysis of the Mind

Conscious and Unconscious Mind

This term had surfaced in the society more and more often these days than many years back. Though so, to some, unconscious is still a never of existent. Do these parts of the mind really exist? Let’s explore more what are the differences and you be your own judge.

Though in the society many speak of both the mind often, our mind is actually much more complicated than that as there are many different level of consciousness. But for now, let’s keep it to the simple understanding the Conscious and Unconscious Mind.

What are the differences between this two mind?

To help you understand further or more visually, one of the common metaphors people use is the ice-berg metaphor.

Your Conscious Mind is like the pinnacle of an iceberg on the picture above, where you can see the pinnacle of the iceberg through your naked eyes but far below, it is a mysterious hidden part that you do not see and know the vastness of the iceberg, which also represents your Unconscious Mind. Let’s break it down further.

CONSCIOUS MIND

The conscious mind is your waking mind, the part of your mind that is responsible for logic and reasoning, which sometimes people refer it as your EGO mind. For an example, if I give you an apple and an orange, you can point to me which is an apple and which is an orange.

Other than the logic and reasoning, your conscious mind also controls and executes the actions that you do intentionally. A simple example; you wanted to pick up a cup on the table, a signal is being sent to your brain and after a quick backend processing your hand will move towards the cup to pick it up because you are 100% conscious of what you are doing. It’s the same as any other movement that you will it to be consciously.

UNCONSCONSCIOUS MIND

On the other hand, the UNCONSCIOUS MIND, is the part of your mind that you are unconscious of, right now. If I don’t mentioned of the awareness of your breathing rate, your heart beats, the feelings of your back resting on the backrest, you may not have be aware of it. Your Unconscious Mind is part of your mind that is responsible for all your involuntary actions inclusive of habits. As an example, some people tends to shake their legs whenever they sit down, tapping their fingers constantly, rubbing their eyes, even constantly picking their nose ! Totally out of their awareness. They may knew they are shaking their legs, tapping their fingers or picking on their nose, but the first actions is like an automatic reactions and the frequency of repeating these actions mostly out of their awareness.
The Unconscious Mind is also a place where it stores all your memories, emotions, experiences, beliefs, values. Yes, that means all kinds of stuff you buried it away either with or without your awareness, and more often than not, these stuff are subsequently forgotten.

Nevertheless, these buried or forgotten stuff are from time to time being brought up to your consciousness through certain signals and events that is happening around us, and many a times, our Conscious Mind, are generally too busy occupied by the outer world around us –music, party, arguments, conflicts, the never ending thoughts..etc.
If you have not already notice, your Unconscious Mind plays a great role in your life directions because it contains the power and knowledge that can propel and unleashed your full potential – when you know how to work together with both of your mind.

THE POWER OF COMBINED STRENGTH – CONSCIOUS AND UNCONSCIOUS MIND TO WORK TOGETHER

Many people are unaware of the power of having both minds to work together. Think of your Unconscious Mind as the big warehouse of unlimited intelligence and wisdom. If you were to be able to tap into these intelligence and wisdom, just imagine how much you can achieve in your life.
What do you want most in your life? Perfect health? Prosperity? Abundance? Happiness? Wonderful relationship? Etc..

The key is creating a harmony between both minds. Our Unconscious Mind is constantly listening, hence when you think of a certain thoughts constantly, most often than not, your Unconscious Mind has already pick it up and start to act upon it.

Let me give you an example, people often feed themselves with negative thoughts, which quite often leads to a negative result. And when you program and feed your mind with the right and healthy thoughts, over a period of time, you can see a desired change in you.
Some change can be easy, while some change may not be so. There are also many tools out there that can assist in making a faster change. You just have to know which applies to you the best.
